KENYA ADVENTURE SAFARI

Kenya ’s enormous variety of terrain gives rise to a great variety of big game parks with nearly all the different types of animals found in Africa . This comprehensive safari gives you it all!

NAIROBI DAY ONE:
Whenever you arrive, you'll be picked by our driver and taken to Intercontinental Hotel for your overnight in Nairobi . [no meals]

TSAVO DAY TWO & THREE
In the morning depart for the Tsavo National park , Kenyan's largest, with its hundreds of extinct volcanic cones, famous red elephants, and herds of antelope, zebra and giraffe. Visit Mzima Springs, where 50 million gallons of fresh water flow from the lava rock each day forming pools inhabited by hippo and crocodile. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Lodge, known for its big game and spectacular birds. [all meals]

AMBOSELIDAY FOUR

Cross the Shetani lava flow, only some 200 years old, and drive to Amboseli National Park . Snow-capped Kilimanjaro, 19,340 rooftop of Africa majestically dominates the landscape; springs fed by Kilimanjaro rainfall provide water and green grass for wildlife throughout the year. Enjoy the afternoon's game viewing in this land where elephants sometimes travel in herds of over 200 individuals, and where lion and cheetah share the marshland, lakes and thorn bush plains with large numbers of zebra, impala, gazelle and other antelopes. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge.
[all meals]

LAKE NAIVASHADAY FIVE
Take a morning flight to Nairobi and then enjoy scenic view of the Rift Valley as you drive to the lodge in Naivasha, along a beautiful papyrus-lined roadway. Overnight at lovely Great Rift Valley Lodge.[all meals]

LAKE NAKURUDAY SIX
Take a day trip from your lodge to visit Lake Nakuru National Park , known for the spectacle of its massed flamingos, which sometimes number over a million. Pelicans, yellow-billed storks, and vast numbers of water fowl are seen at Nakuru, along with herds of waterbuck and impala. A sanctuary for the endangered black rhinoceros has recently been established here. Meals and overnight at the Great Rift Valley Lodge.[all meals]

ABERDARE DAY SEVEN
Travel where few tourists go, spending the entire day in the Aberdare National Park with a picnic under waterfalls. See rare game and outstanding scenery. At the end of the day reach the historic Ark Tree Hotel. From comfortable viewing areas, watch rhino, elephant, buffalo and other game at the water hole, which is gently floodlit throughout the night. On request, the resident warden alerts sleeping guests to late-night arrivals of leopard and bongo-both special delights. [all meals]

SAMBURU DAY EIGHT & NINE
After breakfast drive northwards and cross the equator, where you can be photographed with one foot in each hemisphere! Continue to the spectacular Northern Frontier District and the Samburu Reserve, rich in seldom-seen game including the handsome reticulated giraffe, the rare Grevy's zebra, the long-necked gerenuk antelope and the long-horned oryx. Samburu also has an astonishing variety of birds, including golden palm weavers and pygmy falcons. It is home for the nomadic Samburu tribe, a proud people whose warriors are noted for their startling ochre-colored hair and body painting. Meals and overnight at Samburu Lodge. [all meals]

MAASAI MARA DAY TEN & ELEVEN
In the morning drive to the airstrip for your flight to Masai Mara, and reach the rolling grasslands of the Mara plains. This is the northern part of the great eco-system that includes Tanzania 's Serengeti to the south and which offers perhaps the finest game viewing in the world: great migrating herd of zebra, wildebeest and gazelle, and predators such as lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas. This is “big game” country! Prides of more than 20 lions-- including large black-maned males-are not uncommon. Search in the trees and wooded gullies for the elusive leopard, and in the grasslands for cheetahs. Visit the pools of wallowing hippos along the Mara River . Meals and overnight at famous Governor’s Camp .[all meals]

DAY TWELVE - NAIROBI.
