DAY 1
Depart Nairobi for southern Kenya . Lush and green from the 19,340-foot tall Kilimanjaro's springs, this is the home of many elephants that travel in herds of over 200 individuals. Lions and cheetahs share the marshland, thornbush plains and rich marshland with large numbers of gazelle, impala and other antelopes. This is a game drive that may present the opportunity for the classic safari photograph of a lion's silhouette against the towering mountain. Dinner and overnight at Amboseli Serena Lodge. [lunch & dinner]
DAY 2.
In the morning leave for Kenya 's largest park the Tsavo National Park . Expect to see hundreds of extinct volcanic cones, the famous red-elephants, and herds of antelope and giraffe. Visit Mzima springs where 50 million gallons of freshwater flow from lava rock each day forming pools inhabited by hippo and crocodiles. Dinner and overnight at Kilaguni Lodge famous for its big game and spectacular variety of birds. [all meals]
DAY 3
After breakfast drive back to Nairobi, or continue to Mombasa, arriving later in the day. [breakfast only]
